A large piece of broken crockery, glazed black on the inside. On the back is stamped 'R.W.S. Co.' Up until now I can't fnd any leads on the company or the type of crockery this might have been. Why the black glaze on the inside? This large piece of metal was also found far down Hobson Creek near the old homestead and Skippy's. One end is curled into possibly a hook, the other end opens into a wide "U". My only guess is some kind of wagon or horse equipment but don't know where to start. Latest finding in the creekbed: this piece of glazed pottery or crockery. A little of the original writing is still visible. What does it say? "Milk" or "Buttermilk"? a. Walking anytime in the creek bed there are so, so many bricks and pieces of old walls, buildings. Where do they all come from? Old cement piers wash down often as well. b. An old fireplace grate as far as I can tell. Laying on top of the gravel in the active channel. Probably just tossed in as trash at some point :( |
